Aim of the project is to re-establish the active raised bog habitats and site hydrology in the areas that are influenced by drainage and to protect the raised bog habitats, plants and animals of European and Latvian importance.

Second Project Steering Group Meeting 17/03/2011 00:00

On 1st March LIFE Project "Raised Bogs" informed Steering Group about its activities and plans in meeting in Olaine. 23 persons attended this meeting.

Charwoman of the meeting was V.Buša from The Ministry of the Environmental Protection and Regional Development.

The Project Manager M.Pakalne informed about main activities in the project. Nature Management Plan Managers from Latvian Fund for Nature - G.Freimane, J.Reihmanis and V.Baroniņa - presented the Project Teritories and told how Nature Management Plans are being made. Project Information Coordinator D.Brakmane presented the main public awareness activities and I.Ūbele from ELM MEDIA informed about the project film.In the end of the meeting A.Slišāns presented the project budget.
