Aim of the project is to re-establish the active raised bog habitats and site hydrology in the areas that are influenced by drainage and to protect the raised bog habitats, plants and animals of European and Latvian importance.

Project final seminar 18/06/2013 15:39

Everyone is welcome to participate in the final seminar of LIFE+ project “Raised bogs”. In the seminar, project manager Dr.biol. Māra Pakalne will give a report about accomplished works during the three years of the project. At the end, the project’s film “Mires Uncovered” produced by Elm Media will be demonstrated. After the seminar, excursion to Melnais Lake Mire will be organised to survey built dams on drainage ditches and evaluate effect of restoration works to raised bog vegetation.
