Aim of the project is to re-establish the active raised bog habitats and site hydrology in the areas that are influenced by drainage and to protect the raised bog habitats, plants and animals of European and Latvian importance.

Approvement of Aklais Mire Nature Management Plan 31/05/2011 12:49

May 9th, 2011 meeting in Ministry of the Environment and Regional Development of Latvia was held about Aklais Mire Nature Reserve Nature Management Plant between Nature Management Plan Steering Group Members, Latvian Fund for Nature and Jaunjelgava Municipality. It was necessary because the Plan was not approved by Jaunjelgava Municipality.

May 12th, 2011 another meeting was held in Latvian State Forests again to discuss planned actions in Nature management Plan.

May 26th Nature Management Plan was approved by Jaunjelgava Municipality. Now it needs to be approved by Minister of the Environment and Regional Development of Latvia.
