Aim of the project is to re-establish the active raised bog habitats and site hydrology in the areas that are influenced by drainage and to protect the raised bog habitats, plants and animals of European and Latvian importance.

Public Discussions about Nature Management Plans 28/02/2011 00:00

In the beginning of 2011 four Public Discussions about Nature Management Plans for Rožu Mire, Melnais Lake Mire, Aizkraukle Mire and Forests and Aklais Mire were organised.

During these Public Discussions Nature Management Plan Managers informed everyone about nature values in the territories as well as with interesting facts and history of the sites and planned management action. Interested asked different questions and objected some planned management activities as well as asked for some updates in plan. Experts answeder all the questions and afterwards updated the Nature Management Plans.

During Public Discussions about Aizkraukle Mire and Forests exhibition "Secrets of Mires" was opened. It will be in Aizkraukle Municipality till March 8th.
